Connecting Canadian Authors & Illustrators with Kids

Updated: May 3, 2022

Meeting authors, illustrators and storytellers can be a turning point in a child’s life, inspiring a lifelong love of reading. Canadian Children's Book Week runs May 1-7, 2022 to connect kids and teens with great Canadian reads and the people who create them.

We're excited to welcome author Andrew Larsen on Thursday, May 5 for two virtual visits. Andrew will be presenting Another Squiggly Story - a story about writing stories. Kid meets blank page in this fun exploration of the writing process. This playful book celebrates self-expression, self-discovery and letting your imagination roam. It's the perfect choice to inspire the storyteller in every child!

You can learn more about Andrew's stories at https://www.andrewlarsen.ca/. If you are a teacher interested in having your class attend virtually, please email Raymond at rbach.egpl.ca for the link. You can also register on our Eventbrite page.

If you want to curl up and share a Canadian story with a little one, here are some fantastic picture books you can place a hold on in the catalogue today:
